Grow up, feel the pain
of labouring in vain
Hear the ticking of the clock
growing faster, keen to mock
See the leaves fall from the tree
wondering how long spring will be
Believe that you just can't win
with your spirit lost within
Chase deadlines until your dead
where once you chased dreams instead

This is so poignant & true! This is what life turns out to be sometimes!
A fantastic 55 toadee.
had no idea about your brother in law... my condolences to you & your family...
55 based in reality! I love it!
Hi Toadee,
I'm new to your blog, I got here by way of Snow Elf's list of 55ers. Nicely done.
Dearest Toad, you have had a rough week, yet it has inspired such a lovely thought provoking 55. Life never can stop to wait for those running behind to catch up...
take care,
--snow

Hi Jessie, thank you for your comment and welcome to my humble blog
Ah the futility of working for someone else. Why do we do it? Because we aren't one of 'the Haves.'
i think i would rather be a 'have not' than a 'have but want more'
