Valentines day! What a lovely day, full of romance, joy and promises both made and fulfilled. If you are with your true love anyway.
This year I wrote a short verse to try and express my feelings, it's not brilliant but it is from the heart. Then I realised that I really didn't know what to do with it. To send it to it's intended recipient might do more harm that good at the moment and yet not to send it would feel like denial.
So, I put it in a bottle on www.oceangram.com and threw it into the cyber sea. I did this because stating\writing the dream makes it more real for me.
One day she will be able to read what I wrote but somehow I know that she will feel the love that is in my note anyway.
To those of you who are spending this Valentines day with someone special, enjoy. I am happy for you and the happiness and love you feel today will be mine one day soon

arggggggggg!
tis the season to be jolly. Jolly busy and jolly knackered.
I'm struggling to be here, there and everywhere and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
I remember thinking, beginning of December, hmmm, must start sorting out Christmas soon.
So now it's 20th December, I have yet to shop and the house needs a massive tidy.......
Anyway, what I really came to say is that I wish anyone who happens by here and even those who don't a happy, peaceful and relaxed Christmas. I have appreciated the friendship which has been given so freely and the love that flows so copiously and will attempt to blog more about my reflections on the past year soon (well, as soon as I get Christmas done lol)

Is this love?
every week and elderly couple come onto the mobile library. She reads avidly he never touches a book but every week he escorts her to the van, carrying her books and sees her safely aboard before announcing that he will pop over to the shop to see if the paper is in.
Every week she tells him to be careful and to watch the road. When he returns he sits quietlt with his paper while she chooses her books and chats and then he helps her down the steps and carries her books home for her.

sweet love 55
Slowly, gently
he reached out
tenderly he touched, explored
soft skin yielding
each soft hair exciting his questing fingers
His lips part
his tongue already anticipating the frail, soft flesh within
imagining the taste of the sticky, sweet juice
As if from far away her voice intrudes
"are you actually going to buy that kiwi?"

So that was Christmas!
we didn't spend a great deal on presents this year but all the off spring were happy and the six year old even said that he had got everything he ever wanted in the world, I was a happy daddy!
a school friend of one of my daughters was quite rude about the amount we spend on presents but hey, our kids get love.
We intended to visit the cemetery this morning to place flowers on my brother in laws grave but we broke down on the way so it looks as though we will be spending more time at home (which isn't such a bad thing)

flash55, badly written but heartfelt
If fate gave me a fortune
I'd still be incomplete
without the richness of your laughter,
the joy of your heart,
and the safe haven of your embrace.
I can never be poor
whilst feeling the eternity of your love
I can feel no cold or pain
in the warmth and peace of your arms
I'd still be incomplete
without the richness of your laughter,
the joy of your heart,
and the safe haven of your embrace.
I can never be poor
whilst feeling the eternity of your love
I can feel no cold or pain
in the warmth and peace of your arms

my naughty poem
I did this for my writer's group, it made them laugh hehe
Relating
Do you think I'm attractive?
oh yes, said his lips
hmmmm, suppose, added his brain
YUM! cried the little devil
Will you see me again?
of course, the lips assured
errrrrrr, suppose, the brain added
WELL, ARE YOU GOING TO PUT OUT OR WHAT? demanded the devil, stretching
Do you love me?
you know I do, quick from the lips
yeah, yeah, whatever, yawned a bored brain
I'M READY, NOW! groaned the giant devil.

Just a random thought about love
true love is a constant state
but within we mark each moment
by shifting moods
joy and pain
measured on the barometer of the heart
but within we mark each moment
by shifting moods
joy and pain
measured on the barometer of the heart

My dad
when i got in from work yesterday my partner said that my dad needed a lift to the health centre a she had been having chest pain all day, he suffers from angina and had a triple bi-pass about 10 years ago, I went straight down to his house and drive him and mum to the health centre and from there to the A&E department.
I was, of course, very worried and, as I sat in the waiting room, I was thinking about how special dad is.
He isn't famous and he had never done anything outstanding but he is outstanding. He is outstanding for the values he holds (which have often prevented him gaining promotion), he is outstanding for the love he has and gives, he is outstanding precisely because he doesn't seek greatness and notoriety, he supports his family and friends and wants only the best for them.
I love him so much.
It turns out that he has a pneumonia, although only mild, and he was sent home with anti-biotics and pain relief
