Party held, lessons learned

Last night I had a party as the family are away. it wasn't a grand affair and thankfully all attendees behaved and there was very little clearing up to do this morning.
Both during and indeed after the party I found that |i was learning some valuable lessons which I would like to share here.

1. one is a good number of people to have at a party as it avoids both loving AND fighting

2. One is a terrible number to have at a party as it limits entertaining conversation (although that is surely what facebook is for)

3. If you want lots of cyber input you need to put all your friends in the same time zone

4. There is a limit to the 'damage' a drunk can do if he is the only drunk around

5. Stuff the damage, it's fun to get drunk with your friends now and again and errr, friends will forgive. Won't they?

6. The settee is really rather comfortable

Mmmmmmm, that felt nice

I attended a party with my partner last Saturday. The party was to celebrate the 40th birthday of an old friend of her's and his wife. Most of the people there new each other and I had been sort of dreading the event and being 'out on a limb'.
Those who know me will know that , beneath the bluster, I am a shy, socially inadequate person, some people think I'm rude but I'm just not good in social situations.
I'm here to say that I really enjoyed the party, yes there were moments when I was a lost soul but Jacqueline's friends were so nice to me and they made me feel really at ease.
Thank you guys, you probably don't realise how much good you did.

standard Christmas

it's shaping up to be a fairly normal christmas here in toadeeworld.

We have just attended our first family gathering, I came home with my daughters as they didn't want to stay and one has work in the morning. A moment ago I had a call from my partner saying that there were all sorts of arguments and fights going on and that she might want me to go and pick them up.

Yep, a standard Christmas hehe

Party, my place, NOW!

I've been feeling a little stressed of late but having friends around the world has been a great help from those who just call in once to the most special of my friends.

Rather than moping about I have decided to throw a party because it will give all my friends a chance to mingle.

So, bring a bottle, bring food, bring games and music, bring a friend but mainly, bring yourself.

ALL WELCOME and the spa pool and hot tubs are open

My birthday

My birthday started at the stroke of midnight with two e cards from New Zealand. I was lucky enough to be on line and able to actually communicate for once(computer had a head of steam)and my birthday was launched by by very good friend KB.
Was woken by the kids who presented me with socks, chocolate, smellies and clothes, it was a little awkward because I felt for my niece who suddenly doesn't have a dad to lavish with presents.
I spent most of the day around the house and sorting out family business around our bereavement and then in the evening there was a small party which was a quietish affair and again weird because my children were so possessive of me.

I wanted to post a picture but I'm once again having computer problems
