As you may know My son, Jack was diagnosed with Long Q-T syndrome a while ago and then I was found to have the same gene late last year. As a result of this my parents were tested as were Jacks siblings. Yesterday was results day. We now know that my dad has the gene (and passed it to me) and Rebecca and Sophie also have it. There is supposed to be a 50% chance of inheriting the gene so it appears that maths wasn't god's strong point. Thomas is now the onlt one of my children who hasn't received this special gift from me.
I continue to worry about the effect this condition will have on them all although for myself I just carry on much as I did. The children have all their lives ahead of them and they now have to re-examine their hopes and aspirations. Sophie actually said to the genetacist 'I am not going to change anything, I'm not taking beta-blockers and I'm not slowing down, I will enjoy my life however long it is'
I actually feel the same, I only have one more thing on my list of 'must do' and I'm not going to write it on a public blog (not that it's a great secret).
If you have a god, ask your god\godess to smile on us. If you don't have a deity then feel free to join anyone else who feels like it in smiling because a world full of smiles is bound to be fun.

no change there then!
Just to let you know, I am going away for a short break.
The family is going camping in Northumberland which should be lovely.
You will probably not notice because i am here so rarely these days but I just felt compelled to tell you because making announcements makes me feel all important.
I assure you of this, although i may be seldom in your blogs those of you whom i hold in affection are constantly in my heart and those that i hold in disdain can have a welcome break from my seething hate hehe

standard Christmas
it's shaping up to be a fairly normal christmas here in toadeeworld.
We have just attended our first family gathering, I came home with my daughters as they didn't want to stay and one has work in the morning. A moment ago I had a call from my partner saying that there were all sorts of arguments and fights going on and that she might want me to go and pick them up.
Yep, a standard Christmas hehe

A new direction for my daughter
this morning my younger daughter, Sophie played in her first ever hockey match. Those who have born my rantings in other places will recall that Sophie is a keen football player so hockey is something different.
I was so proud of her, the ream lost but it was their first ever match so it wasn't a big surprise. I talked to the coach and commented that I thought Sophie's ball control was good. He said that this had been noted and that he very much wanted her to join his club as he feels she has a natural talent and could well be county or even national material, all this from one match hehe.
Sophie and I have discussed her sporting commitments and she can manage football and hockey.
a lesson: just go for it!!
