consulting the all seeing librarian

Mrs X came onto the library van today. She returned her book, a self help book on stopping smoking but judging by the aroma preceding her it isn't very effective.

'have you got any good books?' she asked
'what sort of thing do you like'
'good books'
'do you like stories or non fiction'
'stories-good ones'
'errr, thrillers, romance, historical....?'
'well have you got any good books?'
'errrrrrrrrrrr'
'oh, I'll take this one'
with that she picked up a guide to kitchen gardening and took it off to her gardenless terraced house.

want some fun in your life?

Here is a fun competition.

head on over to Morgetron's place where she is running a competition which should be loads of fun.

If you know Morgy then you'll know it will be a treat, if you don't know her run away while you still can.

remember 55

Remember to smile
not just because you should
Remember to laugh
because even old jokes hold joy
Remember to sing
with your heart not your mouth
Remember to trust
because hope is the future
Remember the child we were
is locked inside
and we hold the key

Always nurture that spark
without which we age

dancing the night away

We went to a dance last night which was great fun, even the teenagers enjoyed it (although I'm sure they would deny that). The highlight of the evening was Jack on stage with the band doing some cutting moves and charming the entire crowd. I wish i could adequately share with you all the joy and pride I feel.

Multi-faceted

It sometimes strikes me as weird that i can write blogs of totally different character at virtually the same time. I like to think this makes me multi-faceted but perhaps it really means two faced lol

Rollercoaster

Life is always a bit of a rollercoaster ride and I've had my share of ups and downs but I want to share that at the end of last week I had my first major down for quite a while. I had, naively, thought that I was over my anxiety and depression. I was off the medication and back in full time work but then, wham, a quick sudden dip on the Wednesday (pulled up short by a chat with someone close, thank you dearest friend) and then double wham, a major melt down on Thursday just as I arrived at work and leading to me being sent home.
It scares me but I know that these phases pass and that I am not alone, I feel ok now although still a little shell shocked.

one of the good things about children

I love it when the children are young enough not to have heard all my jokes.

Suddenly my old chestnuts are funny again YAY!

(oh and when I say chestnuts, I don't want you ladies getting excited hehe)
