Floods

Rained rather a lot over the past few weeks

and things have started going wrong, schools closing, people being late etc.

Here's the entrance to my local park

at the top left of the picture you can see part of the aviary. about 60 birds have died there today as the rain forced them down and then the floods caught them. The man I was talking to said that the park workers had been cutting holes in the aviary, I thought this was to let the birsd excape and have a chance but it wasn't it was to relieve the pressure of water so that they could get in to remove the bodies.

WoW! Has any of that water gone down yet? The rose garden thingy was a joke, RIGHT?

amazingly most of the water had gone bt the end of today, not so lucky else where in Yorkshire where damage was large scale and there is still danger of a dam collapsing.

That IS the rose garden.

What a terrible shame! The loss of all those beautiful birds. We never have floods, since everything runs into the ocean but if our salt mine collapses we are definitely sailing south. I put my order in early to the Lord above.

I am amazed at the power water has, we are just not used to floods here.

Gere's hoping the salt mine stays strong.
